**Primary Description**

The primary role of the MR&I Engineer is to identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. In general, the MR&I Engineer Guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability. The function provides input to a risk management plan that will anticipate reliability-related, and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact operations and applies value analysis to repair/replace, repair/redesign, and make/buy decisions.

**Key Responsibilities**

1. The planning and scheduling of integrity inspection activities, considering permit and regulatory requirements, including:

- Creation of specific inspection plans
- Supervision of the inspection activities, potentially delegated to Operations or Maintenance

2. The process of findings out of inspections and creation of follow-up work orders, repair and replacement plans. Develop maintenance strategies based on, amongst others, these findings and provide input to the asset manager required to prepare the 5-year maintenance plans (opex + capex)

3. Act as the key contact for the notified body. Provides technical support to production, maintenance management and technical personnel.

4. Analyze trends in incidents, work orders, alarms and other related data related to asset management and Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect operations.

5. Configuration management - ensure consistency and uniformity across the site and ensure as-built files are available and kept up-to-date

6. Prepare work instructions for maintenance activities, including rejection criteria and checklists. Provides input to project managers / project engineering to ensure reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations. Amongst others:

- Participates in the development of design and installation specifications along with commissioning plans.
- Participates in the development of criteria for and evaluation of equipment and technical MRO suppliers and technical maintenance service providers. Develops acceptance tests and inspection criteria.
- Participates in the final check out of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications.

7. To ensure all activities are performed in full compliance with legislative requirements, adopted SHEQ policies, programs and standards & organizational policies. Assists in the development and updating as necessary of such procedures and pro-actively recommends updates.

8. Report any near misses, incidents, accidents or risks. Investigate technical incidents and/or participate in such investigation

**Job Requirements**
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering or similar
- PMP, IPMA, PRINCE2 or other project management education is a plus
- Minimum 5 years of engineering or maintenance experience in terminal or related industry
- Basic knowledge of different disciplines such as civil, mechanical, piping, E & I and process automation;
- Basic knowledge of terminal specific norms and regulations, such as API, EEMUA etc.
- Leading process related incident investigations using in a structured way. Using techniques like Root Cause Analysis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- Problem solving: Requires advanced conceptual thinking in complex and/ or completely new situations
- Knowledge of and experience in asset management (e.g. ISO55000, Mechanical Integrity systems) is a plus;
- Experience with data analysis and root-cause analysis;
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills combined with a focus on details;
- Focus on continuous improvement and disciplined execution;
- Good interpersonal skills and good communicator.
- Good command of English (written and verbal).
