Technical Risk and Safety Consultant

As part of our continued growth and services expansion, ERM has an opportunity for an experienced individual to join our global consulting firm as a Consultant - Risk & Safety in the Singapore office. Our clients are continually seeking to manage Process Safety/Major Accident Risks in an efficient, proactive and defensible manner. In so doing, they require sound risk-based information to help guide investment and make clear decisions around process safety spend. We work collaboratively with clients throughout the entire life cycle of their facilities, from early stages of Concept Design, Detailed Design, Commissioning, Operations through to Decommissioning. We are committed to provide solutions that are substantiated by grounded technical assessments such that their cases for safe operations are founded on justifiable risk assessment outcomes. Our aim is to provide clients with advice and supporting analyses that ensure that their facilities are designed, operated and maintained in a safe manner, with acceptable process safety/major accident risks that are As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).

- Process Safety Design Reviews (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA)
- Functional Safety Assessments (including SIL classification, verification, validation)
- Design and Operations Safety/ HSE Cases
- Formal Safety Assessments (e.g. FERA, EERA, ESSA, TRIA, NHHA, FnG Mapping, CFD analysis, etc.)
- Quantitative Risk Assessments (including Accidental Release Consequence Modeling Analysis)
- Human Factors Assessments and Audits
- Bow Tie Risk Assessments
- Process Safety Management Program Development and Implementation (including Audits)
- Emergency Response Planning
- Safety & Loss Prevention Support (e.g. HSE Design Philosophies)
- Performance Standards for Safety Critical Elements/ Activities
- Reliability, Availability & Maintainability Assessments

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide technical assistance on safety and risk projects involving risk analysis, modelling, calculations, and other studies.
- Perform robust technically sound analysis based on reasoned argument and defensible data/information.
- Suggest improvements/changes to design to reduce risk or improve operations.
- Participate in safety workshops (i.e., HAZIDS, HAZOPS, ALARP), including workshop preparation, scribe, and client reporting.
- Attend client meeting and preparation of proposals.
- Prepare safety cases, including facility descriptions, safety management system descriptions, and formal safety assessment summaries.
- Prepare high-quality reports with clear diagrams and fully explained analysis and calculations.
- Perform multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
- Support ERM Partners-in-Charge and Project Managers to effectively manage projects.
***Requirements**:

- **Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering; Master's degree and/or professional registration is a plus.**
- **Fresh graduate up to 2 years of experience with relevant experience and projects under a variety of local, regional and national regulatory standards.**
- **Possess strong written, verbal communication and data presentation skills in English.**
- **Good Project Management skills.**
- **Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols.**
- **Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with mínimal supervision.**
