Job Responsibilities

This role reports into the Enterprise Data Governance & Quality (EDGQ) Team which is a part of the Data Management Office (DMO) in UOB. The individual will support the EDGQ team in defining and operationalising the long-term vision, strategy and objectives for data governance across the Group which is in line with the Bank's business strategy and objectives. Key responsibilities are:

- Lead Stakeholder discussions and serve as a liaison between business units and technology to ensure data governance considerations are well understood and adopted as a part of business / operational priorities. Actively provide project management support by collaborating with different business and technology units.
- Lead the triage discussions with stakeholders (data consumers and system data stewards) to identify root cause and solutions as well as to track ongoing remediation of Data Quality (DQ) issues
- Collaborate with business and technology teams within the bank to assist with Operationalisation of Data governance roles for existing and ongoing strategic projects through the Software Development Methodology (SDM) platform
- Research and develop strategic material (standard operating procedures, guidelines, process flows, training modules) and spearhead the Communication pillar for the team
- Promote awareness of data culture across the Bank, includes conducting data governance related trainings and roadshows when required
- Develop related metrics to support stakeholder discussions, collaborate with business teams to develop and share Data Governance and DQ scorecards, to assist with monitoring and tracking data health across systems, critical data sets
- Drive DQ strategy and implementation with the end goal of improving the data health across critical data sets in the Bank
- Actively participate and contribute to change management initiatives and continuous evolution of the data governance processes in line with the Bank’s strategies, vision and objectives, along with evolving industry practices
- Identify process improvement and innovation ideas and streamline existing BAU processesJob Requirements
- Degree in Information Technology, Business Computing, Data Analytics or related disciplines with a minimum of 8 -10 years of working experience in the Banking Industry, or Consulting with strong exposure to Financial Services.
- Possess excellent understanding of banking products and processes, data management and related disciplines, such as data risk, data stewardship, data quality etc.
- Proficiency of working with Data Quality tools and technologies. Experience of working in Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) will be an advantage.
- Advanced Proficiency in MS Office skills (Excel, PPT, Visio, Word, Outlook), excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced, results driven environment
- Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and navigate through challenges and conflicts with ease
- Effective influencing and persuasion skills, can work with stakeholders across the bank and obtain consensus at a senior management level
- Demonstrated ability in spearheading complex bank-wide initiatives and able to thrive in a changing work environment
- Able to independently own tasks under aggressive targets, effectively adapt and prioritise based on the evolving data governance vision
- Exposure to Data Warehousing and Big Data platforms is a plus.
- People management experience is an advantage
