DESIGNATION : Ascentis - Database Administrator

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Experienced in supporting SQL Server IaaS and PaaS on AWS and Azure Clouds.
- Migrate on-premises SQL Server instances over to PaaS such as Azure SQL Databases and Amazon RDS for SQL Server
- Well versed in database performance tuning, especially SQL tuning
- Worked in clustered SQL Server environments
- Supported SQL Server on Linux both migrations and on-going support.
- Experienced in setting up SQL Server Log Shipping, Replication and Mirroring
- Skilled in backups & disaster recovery
- Working knowledge in T-SQL, BCP, DTS and SSIS development
- Monitoring and Optimizing Database Performance
- Protecting Databases from Breaches
- Planning Database Capacity
- On-call for production databases - daily maintenance, monitoring, problem resolution and internal customer and dev support
- Experience managing servers in large-scale, geographically diverse environments.
- Work on root cause analysis during major problems and outages
- Able to collaborate with DBA architects, Product owners on DB optimization
- SQL Db account related Incident, Incident Reports and Service Request Tickets

QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of cloud computing infrastructure - AWS, GCC and Azure
- Committed and motivated individual and willing to work odd hours at times when required
- Knowledge and hands-on working experience in Linux and Windows is a must; experience in Linux will be advantageous
- Experience in transactional database design and management of large database

(> 1TB) will be highly advantageous
- Relevant working experience as MySQL/ Maria Db /MSSQL/ PostgresSQL Database Administrator in production environment would be advantageous
- Managing experience of MSSQL servers (2008, 2012, 2014, 2016) Strong understanding in Database clustering techniques and operations
- Past working experience in Cloud environment is an advantage
- Able to manage daily support tasks to meet stringent SLA requirements
- Excellent scheduling and multitasking skills
