Accountant/Senior Accountant

As Account/Senior Accontant, you are reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the books are closed on time and balances are reconciled. You would prepare month to month as well as actual to budget variance analysis and handle Accounts Receivables and Payables for the plant. You would also support the Accounting Manager in process improvement initiatives.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure that all accounting transactions are in compliance to Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) principles. i.e properly supported, authorized and documented
- Ensure that Accounts are closed timely by 5th working day and balances are reconciled
- Prepare month to month variance analysis and actual vs budget variance analysis
- Ensure all CMC’s financial statements are reported in accordance with regulations such as the accounting standards
- Perform monthly bank reconciliation and update daily cash balances
- Prepare monthly departmental expense reports
- Prepare and submit quarterly GST returns
- Prepare cashflow forecast
- Handle Accounts Receivable & Payable and daily activities for CMC Materials S’pore operation (MFG)
- Take care of full set of books for CMC Malaysia
- Prepare supporting schedules for tax and audit
- Supports Accounting Manager in projects for process improvements and automation
- Any other tasks assigned by the Accounting Manager

Educational Background & Experience
- Degree or Diploma in Accounting
- Computer - Knowledge of MS software & ERP system (SAP B1)
- Experience in Full set of Accounts
- Minimum 5 years of experience in related field

Core Competencies
- Possess strong analytical, communication and problem solving skills
- Possess good interpersonal skills and is able to work independently or collaborate as part of a team
- Possess strong work ethic and a process-improvement mindset
- Proficiency in SAP B1 preferred
