**Responsibilities**:

- Engage residents in holistic meaningful activities/programmes and act as a positive role model by providing proper guidance and supervision.
- Assist students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research and other academic tasks.
- Developing and distributing teaching materials to supplement classroom lessons, including study guides.
- Work with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom. Review classroom or curricula topics and assignments
- Teaching skills to improve academic performance, including study strategies, note-taking skills and approaches to answering test questions.
- Conducting practice tests to track progress, identify areas of improvement and help set goals for exam preparation.
- Presenting data analysis on the residents’ results twice annually
- Work with other Welfare Officers to promote structure, boundaries and routines within the Homes and support the resident in their day to day activities
- Work in partnership with schools/learning support aide to ensure that the educational needs of the residents are met

**Requirements**:

- Diploma holder mínimally in any related discipline
- Relevant certificates and experience in handling children in institution or home for children would be an advantage
- Possess the passion in teaching and guiding youth in education matters
- Possess the experience in managing & teaching students
- Able to teach secondary school students (NA & NT) which comprises majority of the residents
- Location of workplace would be at Darul Ihsan Girls' Orphanage (23 Wan Tho Avenue) or Darul Ihsan Boys' Orphanage (5 Mattar Road)
- Possess a responsible and caring attitude
- 5-day work week
- 2-year contract position
