JOB TITLE: Investigations Officer (Intake) Home-based
ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT: The United Nations World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. the mission of WFP is to help the world achieve Zero Hunger in our lifetimes. Every day, WFP works worldwide to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the poorest and most vulnerable, particularly women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Review and assess complaints and allegations (herein preliminary assessments), formulate investigation plans, review and analyse all information to determine its relevance and reliability (as required), prepare, plan and conduct interviews of staff and other involved parties, obtain and analyse potential documentary and electronic evidence, conduct investigative research, and determine the appropriate presentation of preliminary assessments /investigative results;
2. Carry out office and field-based preliminary assessments, and, where necessary investigations, into allegations of violations of policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and applicable rules and regulation;
3. Offer guidance and advice to WFP employees on matters pertaining to the investigation of wrongdoing and direct staff appointed by field offices to conduct investigations into allegations of such acts;
4. Prepare, plan, and write reports and ad hoc briefs pertaining to preliminary assessments and / or investigations;
5. Prepare recommendations for corrective action and improved controls, effectiveness, or efficiency of WFP operations based on the findings of investigations (as required);
6. Regularly appraise progress of preliminary assessments and / or investigations and assess probable impact of investigation outcome relative to strategies and advise colleagues;
7. Coordinate with local officials, governments, and outside organizations and obtain internal support (transport, interpreters, etc.) to resolve problems and to facilitate work of the team;
8. Perform other related duties as required.
