The Robotics Division focuses on the research and development of advanced robotic systems and technologies across the air, land and maritime domains. These include aerodynamics, autonomy, platform control, guidance and navigation technologies.

UAV Avionics Engineer

In this role, you will:

- Develop UAV avionics systems (autopilots, sensors, actuators, networking and power management)
- Be responsible for end-to-end hardware ownership E.g. specifications, architecture, design, simulation, schematic capture, layout supervision, bring-up, documentation etc.
- Design for reliability (fail-safe, fault tolerance), testability, and maintainability
- Design for qualification to EMC, environmental, and airworthiness standards
- Develop system interconnect diagrams and define wire harnesses within the UAV
- Work closely with our close-knit multidisciplinary team (system engineering, aerodynamics, GNC, mechanical, software) to design, integrate, and deliver the next generation of UAVs

**Requirements**:

- Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field
- Familiar with analog and digital circuits (transistor, op-amp, MCU, CPU, FPGA) and standard interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet)
- Proficient in use of standard bench equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, signal generator)
- Experience with PCB design software (PADS Professional, Altium Designer, or equivalent)
- Knowledge in embedded systems experience a plus
- Experience with circuit simulator software (LTspice or equivalent) a plus
- Familiarity with C/C++ programming and Python scripting a plus
- A collaborative team player with a bias for action to push for game-changing UAV capabilities
