In 2020, AWS launched the Aerospace and Satellite (A&S) team, concentrating our resources on helping our customers and partners develop cloud solutions for the A&S industry. A&S’s mission is to provide long-term benefit to customers by focusing on space and satellite innovation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team and help define and execute the AWS Solutions Architecture strategy in support of our customers.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring an experienced Solutions Architect to drive adoption of AWS within the A&S industry.. Industry segments include launch services, human spaceflight, robotic/autonomous systems, mission control center operations, space stations, satellite constellations, ground segment (virtualized ground stations, earth stations, teleports), emergency response services, IoT, geospatial, imagery, broadcast communications, and various government capabilities.
You will be responsible for owning technical engagements with A&S customers and partners; supporting the development of technical blueprints, architectures, and quick start templates to help accelerate solution development; enabling prototype and pilot project development in concert with business development discussions; coordinating new feature requests with AWS service teams; and providing technical leadership in projects owned by customers and partners.
Key job responsibilities
- Provide the architectural guidance and recommendations necessary to promote successful customer/partner engagements.
- Hands on responsibilities: proof-of-concept execution, solution development (testing, documentation, training), and device certification (if required).
- Write reference architectures and configuration guides, develop courses, and trainings.
- Capture and share best-practice knowledge with our broader Solution Architect community.
- Share partner and customer feedback to internal product management and engineering teams to help drive the future of AWS.
- Capture and share best-practice knowledge for deploying, running, and managing solutions on AWS with AWS communities.

- Intermediate or advanced knowledge of AWS services
- 5+ years experience in Aerospace or Satellite industries
- 4+ years consulting or customer facing experience (e.g. pre-sales, Solutions Architecture)
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Engineering/MIS, Math or related field or equivalent experience
