Financial Controller - Asia

The Financial Controller - Asia is responsible for all finance and accounting

operations in the region. This shall include directing, execution and control of the region’s financial process / data, management reviews, risk management,

consolidations, treasury and reporting.

To have ownership of all financial matters within the region and support the regional management team in strategic and profitable development of the business. The role will also have decision making ability and is required to maintain a professional approach at all times with integrity and Sedgwick’s interest in mind.
- Leading a team to oversee and review monthly financial reporting, half-yearly forecast and annual budgeting
- Lead the finance team in ensuring up to date knowledge on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US GAAP and adhered to.
- Comprehensive reviews of profit and loss variances and conduct balance sheet reviews
- Ensure timely identification of variances to forecast and budget to drive the correct behaviours to achieve financial objectives
- Prepare and present financial analysis and reports as required.
- Business partnering with business units and region stakeholders to support delivery of projects by providing accounting advice, not limited to due diligence and integration activities.
- Develop policies and procedures to streamline accounting functions and operations for greater efficiency
- Ensure all finance related processes are properly documented and aligned with group policies and government legislations.
- Drives the financial control and solve finance related compliance issues.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure statutory filing for the companies are done in a timely and accurate manner
- Review internal controls and ensure compliance and sound procedures are in place at all times
- Undertake proper cash flow management to ensure sufficient liquidity in each company
- Handle all taxation issues and ensure tax compliance and timely preparation and filing of corporate income tax and indirect taxes.
- To develop, coach, motivate and empower the finance team at different levels from Finance Managers to junior accounts colleagues

You would require:

- A recognised degree or professional qualification in Accountancy (CPA/ CA)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in regional capacity
- Demonstrated success with business partnering and influencing decision making of Executive Leadership
- Proven ability to develop and evaluate the strategic implications of different business approaches and resolve complex arrangements
- High level financial reporting and analysis
- Cash flow management
- Improving efficiencies and spending controls across the business and to safeguard company assets
- Debt management and collection
- Positive attitude, self motivated and team player
- Possess leadership qualities, high level analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong communicator and presentation skills with ability to communicate with Executives and non-financial individuals
