Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
**ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Serve as the Segment Marketing Expert for Key Growth Segments and Applications in APAC.
- Develop segment expertise through engagement in the market
- Create and execute segment marketing plans including an integrated marketing plan (in collaboration with other parts of the organization)
- Develop & deploy marketing strategies and messages into Asian markets
- Brief leadership on plans, progress, or other topics associated with the growth segments or initiatives
- Deliver Business Growth
- Develop and manage all growth initiatives to establish brand awareness/preference/loyalty and drive incremental growth across the region
- Create, leverage, evaluate and improve marketing tools and processes to deliver growth
- Collaborate with Sales, Market Development and Product Line Management to uncover potential opportunities
- Understand how to create value in addition to the supply of products; Provide coordination and leadership to the organization as we craft offerings
- Develop tools, campaigns, seminars, or other creative means to generate prospects
- Engage with Marketing Operations to develop lead management processes and prepare the organization to convert prospects into opportunities
- Provide Marketing Thought Leadership
- Lead all aspects of the product launch / commercialization process - from strategy creation to execution
- Define value propositions and associated audience appropriate messaging for focus markets.
- Represent region in Market and Competitive intelligence to improve quality of our go-to-market strategies as well as competitor specific strategies as assigned
- Coach staff in developing and deploying marketing plans and messages into various market segments
- Segment / Application Knowledge
- Measure and report on success and opportunity in the market.
- Represent Corning in the Marketplace
- Present value proposition and marketing material at seminars and regional events to generate interest and prospects for Corning
- Collaborate with Sales, PLM and Market Development to plan events.
- Work to implement continuous improvement in our messaging to the market and verify that it is understood. Deliver the right messages and value propositions.
- Prospect Identification and Conversion
- Seek and qualify prospects from multiple sources for the segment
- Follow up on campaigns, programs or other lead generation activities
- Create campaigns within a specific segment and geography to generate Prospects
- Report on success at generating prospects, converting prospects and overall financial success
- Marketing
- Create segment and/or growth strategies. Includes coaching and/or assist staff in developing and executing these strategies to drive incremental growth
- Test and deploy marketing tools to sales teams in support of segment
- Evaluate financials for the value proposition against known or new market data. Ensure the value proposition remains effective. Keep sales equipped to close opportunities
- Engage with sales teams to ensure they understand and have the tools to effectively present value. Work to make them successful with any value propositions in delivering revenue.
- Lead commercialization teams for products or solutions.
- Act as advisor to a commercialization team on any segment-specific topic.
**REQUIREMENTS**
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a marketing role.
- Demonstrated ability to act independently and operate under mínimal supervision.
- Flexibility to operate across various geographical or structural market segments
- Demonstrated creativity in new and different ways to fully leverage the capabilities of Corning, Inc.
