This is an ideal opportunity for an individual who has an interest in the semiconductor industry and prior experience in corporate development and fundraising.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our semiconductor start-up that specializes in the design and production of innovative chips integrating III-V and Si devices. As a Business Development Manager, you will play a critical role in driving the growth and success of our company by identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities, establishing strategic partnerships, and expanding our customer base.
**Responsibilities**:
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships: Identify and establish strategic partnerships with key industry players, including semiconductor manufacturers, technology providers, and research institutions. Collaborate with partners to develop joint business initiatives, co-marketing programs, and technology collaborations.
- Customer relationship management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers. Understand customer needs, provide technical expertise, and develop customized solutions to meet their requirements. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure profitable business agreements.
- Sales and revenue generation: Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets. Lead the sales process from initial contact to contract closure, including product presentations, demonstrations, and contract negotiations. Monitor sales performance, analyze market data, and propose strategies to optimize sales and profitability.
- Industry awareness and trends: Stay updated on the latest trends, developments, and competitive landscape in the semiconductor industry. Monitor industry dynamics, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies. Provide insights and recommendations to the management team on market positioning, product roadmap, and business expansion opportunities.
- Collaboration and teamwork: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and operations, to align business development initiatives with product development, marketing campaigns, and manufacturing capabilities. Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure customer requirements are met effectively.
**Skills/ Experience**:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development in the lighting and/or micro-display industry.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field.
- Deep passion for the semiconductor industry and a strong understanding of key industry trends, dynamics, and emerging technologies.
- Proven track record of successfully identifying and pursuing business opportunities, establishing strategic partnerships, and achieving sales targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with a high level of self-motivation and initiative.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers, attend industry events, and visit partner sites.
