Reports to: Laboratory Manager

Job Summary

Assist the Quality and HSE Department in the maintenance & promotion of the Company’s Quality and HSE Management System.

**Responsibilities**:

- Carry out calibration of equipment, standardization and stocking of reagents in accordance with schedule.
- Assist in the preparation, compilation, and maintenance of Quality Manual of AmSpec Singapore which comply with standard for accreditation and requirements of the competent authority.
- Conduct regular quality audits with the Company and provide feedback to Department Manager.
- Ensure consistent follow-up for non-conformances in quality control.
- Develop enhanced awareness with continual education of all AmSpec personnel on quality assurance principles and accreditation requirements.
- Conduct regular in-house training, briefing, meeting and feedback dialogue sessions etc.
- Work closely with Lab and Business Manager in providing advice & and guidance in ensuring the consistently conform to Quality Assurance procedures.
- Deputize for the Quality & HSE Manager, in his / her absence in liaising with SAC-SINGLES on all matters related to accreditation or other quality-related matters.
- Deputize, in his / her capacity, for QA Manager in all QA and calibration-related matters.
- Assist Chemists in identifying tests/equipment that requires SQC, gathering necessary data, and set up manual and electronic control chart. Monitor progress and ensure conformance.
- Assist and implement necessary corrective actions assigned from all audits.
- Brief staff and check reagents/equipment before witnessing of test take place.
- Carry out internal and external calibrations and issue Certificate of Calibration based on the scope of accreditation.
- Undertake specific quality-related projects as directed by the QA and HSE Manager.

**Requirements**:

- Diploma / Degree in Science or at least 2-3 years experience working in a chemical, petroleum, or petrochemical laboratory.
- Having some experience in changing GC columns would be an advantage.
- Ability to understand ASTM standards and procedures.
- Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools.
- Protocol, procedure, and safety oriented.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work effectively under pressure, while directing numerous projects concurrently with different deadlines.
- Able to work on a flexible schedule as the position will include evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on customers’ requirements.
- A dependable and reliable individual whose daily presence adds to the success of the department.
- Able to work independently and a good team player.
- Ability to work and communicate with persons of diverse personalities and backgrounds.
