- Overview
PERTAPIS CHILDREN'S HOME's mission is to help children victims of abuse to re-integrate in society through positive learning. The Home provides care to 80 children and young persons from the age of 4 to 16 years old. They are referred by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) and Youth Court for alternative care arrangement.- Job Description
Ensure that the residents comply with the Home’s Rules and Regulations
-Responsible for day-to-day supervision and care of residents
-Responsible for smooth running of programs in the Home
-Assist in ensuring the safe custody of the residents under the Home’s care
-Assist in submission of reports of all serious incidents/occurrences of unusual or serious nature pertaining to the young persons to the Head of Home
-Guide and motivate residents to a higher level of behavioural performance and development
-Assist in ensuring that all records, documents and correspondence are updated promptly and filed accordingly
-Conduct regular checks on the facilities and electrical works in the Home
-Responsible for laundry needs for residents
-Responsible for preparation and serving of meals for residents
-Responsible for collecting and labelling food samples for every meal
-Ensure that kitchen area is clean and tidy at all times
-Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen store
-Maintain safekeeping of all utensils in the kitchen
-Responsible in preparing and serving of food for all meals
-Assist in supervision of residents during shower and praying time
-Support staff in supervision of residents during outings
-Assist Senior Youth Guidance Officer with supervising of landscaping, follow up on pest control routine service work
-Ensure the general cleanliness and maintenance of the Home is in running order.
-Trouble shoot basic electrical failure
-Attend to donors and visitors to the Home
-Attend to phone calls and enquiries
-Accompanying Staff for outings
-Assist in rendering First Aid when necessary
-Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Head of the Home, Licensee and Governing Board
- Job Requirements
‘N’ Level / ‘O’ Level / Diploma
-Able to work on rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays
-Able to work independently and in a team
-Pleasant personality, good interpersonal skills, matured and have genuine passion to work with young children
