The National Programme for Cardiovascular Research aims to strengthen the overall impact of cardiovascular research and translation in Singapore by bringing together key basic, clinical and translational teams in joint platforms to actively establish and implement collaborative cardiovascular research programmes involving different organisation and research partners (MOHT, NHCS & NHRIS, NUHCS & CVRI,NHG Heart Institute, KTPH, A*STAR, NUS, Duke-NUS, LKC).

What you will be working on

**(A) **GENERAL**

Working closely with the Executive Director of this National Programme, the incumbent will be responsible for:
1. Developing strategy for advancing the Programme’s key objectives, driving high and defining and recommending priorities to the Programme’s leadership.

2. Working with various stakeholders of the Joint Platforms to build up the programme,ensure smooth operations, monitor progress and achieve key deliverables in a timely manner.

3. Working closely with the Programme’s clinical and research partners, clinician investigators and research leadership to develop and deliver practice-changing Use Cases that support improved health and economic outcomes.

4. Establishing the infrastructure, operational systems, framework and funding model that will enable the heart centres to function as one, thereby increasing work efficiency and reducing the duplication of resources.

5. Leading the review of current policies and processes e.g. harmonizing budget, contract, timelines, charging/ fee policies and structures, to increase the cost competitiveness of conducting clinical trials in Singapore.

6. Engaging the Programme with the wider scientific/clinical community in Singapore to forge and facilitate partnerships and collaborations in Cardiovascular research-related domains.

7. Working together with the Programme’s Business Innovation and Development Unit (BIDU) to providing leadership in the Programme’s business strategy and lending support to its commercialization/translational efforts and activities.

8. Work with the business innovation development unit to identify and pursue opportunities for potential public/private/industry partnerships and engagements for the Programme towards the development of new therapeutics and diagnostics.

What we are looking for

**(A) **EDUCATION, TRAINING**

Mastersor PhD Degree in Biomedical Science with specialisation in cardiology/cardiovascular biology; MBA, MBBS would be a plus.

**(B) **ATTRIBUTES**

1. Keen business acumen, strong leadership and relationship management skills.

2. Excellent communicator with proven track record of successfully navigating complex areas.

3. Experience in fostering a transparent and open environment that promotes mutual trust and strong partnerships between members.
