Associate/vp, Platform Engineer

**Data Strategy Group**
We build our data architecture in a robust operational environment with scale and efficiency. Data is meaningful in a functional, discoverable, and accessible format to power GIC’s innovative investment strategies.

**What impact can you make in this role?**
You will strive to build a high-performance enterprise data infrastructure, and create a results-driven approach with data products.

**What will you do as a Platform Engineer (Master Data Management)?**
- As you build a data platform, you will sharpen your skills on data engineering and system integration, while delivering technical solutions on data modelling, event-driven messaging, data publishing and bulk data transformation
- You will work closely with teammates and vendor partners both within and beyond the project team to deliver an integrated technical solution which works end-to-end
- Work closely with data product team and business end-users to implement and support the data mastering platform
- Design and build robust and scalable data ingestion and data management solutions for batch-loading and streaming data sources
- Enable ingestion checks and data quality checks for all data sets in the data platform and ensure the data issues are actively detected, tracked, and fixed without breaching SLA
- Work with members in the team to establish best practice and internal processes to enhance the data pipeline operations

**What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
- Proficient in data modelling, database design and data migration
- At least 4 years of experience working in either Java or Python
- Exposure and knowledge in the following technologies is advantageous:

- Snowflake, Oracle, MS-SQL, PostgreSQL
- IBM-MQ, Kafka
- AWS (SQS, SNS, RDS)
- Docker, Kubernetes
- Good team player who is keen to learn and able to work independently
- Possesses strong analytical, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills
