Mizzen + Main is searching for a high-performing
**Sales Associate - Specialty East **to manage the west coast territory of independent and men’s specialty accounts and drive growth within the market. We are looking for outgoing, dependable sales associates with apparel sales experience (menswear a plus), that have a passion for telling a story through branding and customer experience, and the ability to maximize sales profitability and growth while maintaining solid relationships with accounts.
**Primary Responsibilities**:
- Provide the highest level of customer service and account management within territory and grow business through networking, relationship building and knowing the market
- Maintain existing customer relationships and expand sales
- Strong sales skills and ability to hit quotas through product knowledge emphasizing quality, design, and value
- Develop and maintain a steady pipeline of sales activity
- Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on the business segment with meaningful insights and presenting clear plans to recoup budget variances when applicable
- Maintain broad knowledge of products, pricing, promotions, and other important issues through management communications, meetings, client focus groups, and formal training
- Responsible for achieving specific sales business targets and maximizing sales opportunities on each and every call.
- Place and/or receive customer inquiries that may require deviation from a script or sales flow process
- Collaborate with internal fulfillment team in order to ensure orders are being processed prior to cancel dates
- Remain knowledgeable of industry trends, competitors, and all aspects of Mizzen+Main’s market
- Build and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities and targeted accounts, tracking outreach and status through account acquisition
**Qualifications**:
- 3+ years’ experience working with specialty accounts in a wholesale sales, preferably menswear
- Highly motivated, organized and results-driven
- Deep understanding of the menswear industry and its’ competitive environment
- Strong established industry relationships
- Ability to cultivate new business opportunities
- Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Ability, willingness, and flexibility to travel (2x/month for account visits + market shows)
- Ability to build and maintain strong internal relationships to drive cross-functional efforts across all levels of the organization
- Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction and sales
- Understanding of financials including industry pricing, gross margins, sell-through performance, and inventory turns
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment with a team player mentality
- BA/BS degree preferred
