**Minimum qualifications**:

- PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems.
- 3 years of experience in coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases, or statistical analysis.

**Preferred qualifications**:

- Experience working on products, search, or creator growth.
- Ability to present to and influence executive-level audiences.
- Ability to learn new techniques, teach others, and up-level peers.
- Ability to grow in an ambiguous environment.

**About the job**:
At Google, data drives all of our decision-making. Quantitative Analysts work all across the organization to help shape Google's business and technical strategies by processing, analyzing and interpreting huge data sets. Using analytical excellence and statistical methods, you mine through data to identify opportunities for Google and our clients to operate more efficiently, from enhancing advertising efficacy to network infrastructure optimization to studying user behavior. As an analyst, you do more than just crunch the numbers. You work with Engineers, Product Managers, Sales Associates and Marketing teams to adjust Google's practices according to your findings. Identifying the problem is only half the job; you also figure out the solution.

Through your professional expertise and judgment, you work on multiple projects concurrently, developing analyses, models and methods to support and verify the impact of your recommendations. You share your expertise by consulting on projects, serving on committees and mentoring team members.

As an analyst, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of Google Search and influence a product starting from its inception. You will use data to understand key user and creator needs. You will have the opportunity to work closely with Product and Engineering leadership and across the broader team to answer the most critical business questions through data. You will prioritize and set analytics goals.

**Responsibilities**:

- Design and execute logs-based analysis and experiment-based analyses to understand product performance and opportunity areas.
- Conduct statistical analysis, such as regression analysis, causal impact studies, metrics forecasting, and propensity modeling.
- Design and validate key metrics, understand product performance through metrics reporting.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (PM, engineering, UX Research) to influence product strategy.
- Present findings and business recommendations to multiple levels of stakeholders and leadership teams.
