Mechanical Lead

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage the consultant and contractor during the design, construction, and commissioning phase to deliver the agreed quality, costs, and schedule of the projects.
- Drive the concept design, basic design, detailed design phases and a +/- 10% budget of approved projects together with the users of define the project scope.
- Ensure completed projects and documents/drawings are properly handed over to Process Engineering for commissioning, to Validation department for IQ, OQ, and PQ, or to the users and Technical Services. Ensure project close out process is completed.
- Propose and evaluate modifications to equipment, processes, and operations to improve safety, increase efficiency and enhance Project /company goals.
- Supervise outside contractors to develop and implement Capital projects and plant modification.
- Experienced working with change control (i.e., track wise), permit to work, drawing management, documentation etc for day-to-day activities.
- Submit Project Progress Report (PPR) monthly progress report on Engineering andcommissioning phases.
- Serve as overall Design coordinator on Merlion (large CAPEX) project in terms of Mechanical (mainly HVAC, Piping and Fire Protection system).
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in engineering disciplines (such as HVAC, Mechanical, Piping and Fire Protection) for other engineers to consult and guide the Consultant team.
- Any other duties as assigned by your Supervisor/Manager.

**Requirements**:

- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering Discipline.
- Relevant experience in the large biopharmaceutical Project as a Mechanical lead (leading independently HVAC, Piping and Fire Protection design to construction stage). 13 - 22 years for Diploma and 9 - 18 years for Bachelor Degree
- Good understanding in HVAC, Piping and Fire Protection system design and operation and relevant statuary Code of Practices along with ASME codes (ASME BPE and B31.3).
- Strong problem-solving ability, troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience in 3D design reviews (like Navisworks)
- Excellent ability to express concepts and work precisely with Contractor, system owner and Consultant and Line Managers at all levels
- Ability to express concepts and work precisely through presentations and written communication.
- Ability to plan & manage multiple priorities and complex tasks
- Competent in planning tools and able to evaluate most alternatives, resulting in little disruption.
- Able to work in an assignment with multiple parallel activities with cross department members with minimum supervision
- Good team player with excellent attitude to promote team spirit. Follow-up and initiative
- Possess strong analytical skills; able to identify problems quickly and solve them in an effective manner.
- Able to lead in-depth analysis of more complex problems to develop a workable solution
- Has advanced industry experience and knowledge and is able to make good decisions based on that experience with some supervision.
- Understands basic GMP, GDP & GEP principles and requirements
- Thorough understanding/knowledge of relevant regulatory / legal requirements
- Understand the bigger picture of how each of the assigned project contributes to the business and formulate strategy for project execution.
- Provides recommendations to project manager or supervisor/manager to contribute to decisions on short-term and long-term cost impact on Project.
- Drive internal & external stakeholder agreement and decision-making in a timely manner (e. g. on user requirements) to avoid delay to project timelines.
- Adherence to EHS rules and regulations is required at all times.

Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: $5,000.00 - $9,500.00 per month
