Lecturer/senior Lecturer, Academic

Provide academic support for the delivery of SIM programmes, including, but not limited to course design and development, course monitoring, teaching, assessments and review. Implement relevant strategies, policies and procedures to ensure quality and continuous improvement.

**Accountabilities**:

- **Academic Leadership**: Provide domain expertise support, including, but not limited to the areas of Accounting, Banking, English Language, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, International Business and Media for the delivery of SIM programmes.
- **Academic Quality Assurance**: Provide academic quality assurance to the SIM programmes and implement SIM GE academic processes, policies and procedures.
- **Academic Support**: Lead a team of module leaders and associates in providing academic support to SIM programmes. Review student performance and provide academic advisement and counselling to students on the academic progress. Coordinates with module leaders regarding course assessments, moderation, and examination.
- **Administrative Support to Relevant Divisions and/or Departments**: Provide inputs to internal administrative divisions and/or departments on teaching and learning issues in the areas of Accounting, Banking, English Language, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, International Business and Media.
- **Course Design and Development**: Oversees all aspects of course design and development of materials (including blended/online learning) for the SIM programmes.
- **Course Review**:Conducts module and course review, and regular enhancement.
- **Strengthen External Linkages**: Liaise and develops external linkages with academia and industry with the aim to build strong relationships to keep in pace with developments that have impact with the curricula and pedagogy, promote SIM programmes, and to facilitate student recruitment, placement and employment.
- **Talent Management of Associates**: Supervise and manage the associate lecturers, including their performance monitoring and evaluation, re-appointment and intervention measures. Ensure that GE has a pool of proficient associates to deliver teaching in different modes (including blended/online modes).
- **Teaching Delivery**: Delivery course(s) related to the domain expertise, according to prescribed lesson plans to meet the respective desired learning outcomes.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
- A doctorate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work and teaching experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related fields in a higher education environment is preferred.
- Competencies in pedagogy and people management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in curriculum design, adult learning principles, and effective assessment strategies.
- Knowledge of digital learning tools and the ability to select teaching methods appropriate for industry and audience.
- ACTA/ACLP and/or DACE qualifications, or equivalent, preferred.
- Comfortable working independently or as a team player who can work across various levels, both internal and external to the organisation.
- Knowledge of current and emerging instructional technologies and possess a good understanding of pedagogical issues related to online teaching and learning, particularly adult learning.
- Strong written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, well organised, detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality control, and ability to multi-task and work under pressure of deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills using innovative and proactive approaches.
