SingHealth Duke-NUS Institute of Biodiversity Medicine (BD-MED) is a newly established Joint Research Institute under the SingHealth and Duke-NUS Academic Medicine partnership. BD-MED will focus on the science of plant genomics and biology in regional herbs and food plants with the mission of “translating biodiversity studies to impact medicine and health”. We are looking for a dynamic individual with a passion for food sustainability, plant biology to empower our team towards becoming a global leader in translational biodiversity medicine.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Extraction of plant nucleic acids & relevant NGS library preparation.
- Assist PI in researching and establishing water based agri-tech systems for various herbs & consumer greens to increase yields and production sustainably.
- Monitor and perform minor tasks in managing germplasm and research garden.
- Assist researchers in collating data and literature review in various research projects.
- Contribute to project management, presentations, manuscript preparation & submission for publications.
- Assist with general laboratory housekeeping, provide technical support and establish SOPs to ongoing research projects and maintaining good safety hygiene.
- Participate actively in scientific discussions, present research outcomes and organise outreach programmes to the scientific community and public.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor / Master Degree in plant biology with an aptitude for research, preferably with 1 year of relevant work experience.
- Some working experience in therapeutic/ community gardens will be advantageous.
- Good interpersonal communication skills with written, oral communication and computer skills.
- A good team player who is motivated, mature, resourceful, energetic, and work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team and diverse workforce.
