**About Market Development**

The Market Development team works with both Singapore companies and MNCs to facilitate the implementation of design for business strategy and organisation transformation, through establishing partnerships and connections.
**Responsibilities**

As a Manager in the Market Development team, you will be looking after the Executive Engagement portfolio. You will engage business leaders to raise the awareness of design through the organisation of outreach activities and development of content. To communicate the value of design to businesses, you will work closely with best-in-class design consultancies and industry thought leaders and advocates. You will be working closely with other partner organisations and counterparts across the public service as well.

This role is about constantly creating fresh opportunities to promote the value and impact of good design and its innovation process. **But do note that this is not a **communication or marketing** role.**

A typical day for you might look like this:

- Working with partner organisations to conceptualise and organise outreach activities (eg. industry roundtables, conferences and webinars) targeted at business leaders in different industry sectors and across all stages of design awareness;
- Working with design consultancies and thought leaders to develop content that will help amplify the value of design among business communities;
- Organising community building activities for design consultancies in emerging design disciplines;
- Meeting leading local and global designers and design consultancies to learn about their capabilities, best practices and how they can be best placed to bring value to Singapore; whilst keeping your finger on the pulse of the industry;
- Structuring and implementing programmes and initiatives to support organisations in using design and growing their internal innovation capabilities.
**You should be or like to**:

- A Business Development extraordinaire, always on the lookout of new ways to increase awareness of design for business strategy and organisation transformation.
- Get a kick out of formulating strategies and activities with organisations in private sector and public sector; to have them understand design and innovate around users and citizens.
- Pay attention to the details. You are constantly flexing your creativity in identifying organisations from different industry sectors that are going on a transformative innovation journey and shaping such projects with them, with a strong capability to implement and deliver.
- Enjoy networking with people, and you are keen to develop local and international partnerships and work with them to amplify the design message through platforms like leadership roundtables and learning journeys.
- Take ownership of your relationships with all stakeholders within Dsg and external partners in the public and private sectors.
- Motivated and driven, and always on the lookout for opportunities to help create value for private and public sector organisations and seek out best-in-class practices.

**Requirements**:

Client-facing experience in a strategic design or creative agency, or public sector experience in industry engagement programmes and strategies preferred
- Familiarity with design innovation principles and process a plus
- Having experience in events and project management a plus
- Have a degree and background preferably specialising in Business Management, Marketing or Design
