DESIGNATION : Project Manager - Data, SG

RESPONSIBILITIES

**Position Description**:
The ‘Project Manager - Data’ is an IT delivery management role within the Data Team in the JERAGM IT Department.

JERAGM is making a strategic investment in Data and Analytics to enable a more data driven approach to commercial decision making, risk management and operations. As part of this, the Data Team is leading delivery of a modern data platform using Azure services and Databricks. The team is near the beginning of a broad and complex programme of work delivering new capabilities across the business, including:

- A central warehouse of near real-time trade, valuation and risk data
- A central hub for sharing real-time prices and analytics
- Pipelines for scraping, analysing and visualising market prices and fundamental data
- Processes and tools for data governance and discovery

The Data Team is based in Singapore, while their manager is based in London. The Data Team is made up of:

- A technical team reporting to the ‘Lead Data Engineer’ responsible for integration, data engineering and software engineering / release management
- A business and data analysis team reporting to the ‘Lead Business Analyst - Data’ responsible for functional analysis, governance and reporting / analytics

The ‘Project Manager - Data’ will manage delivery by multi-skilled teams cutting across the competencies, using a mixture of agile and project management methodologies. This work will cover new software development projects, small changes, 3rd line support and maintenance (e.g. upgrades to SAAS or PAAS platforms).

The ‘Project Manager - Data’ will be responsible for working with the ‘Lead Data Engineer’ and ‘Lead Business Analyst - Data’ to choose the most appropriate approach to delivering changes based on the scope and complexity of the work, and the maturity of the team. This will mean blending approaches between different delivery models, for example:

- Acting as Scrum Coach and facilitating agile delivery by semi-autonomous teams, but bringing focus to cross-sprint activities such as process improvement, stakeholder management, feature/release planning, resourcing and management reporting
- Acting as Project Manager for larger changes requiring more complex teams and a more structured approach e.g. leading project initiation and then project managing delivery across requirements gathering, build, test and release

Their specific responsibilities will include:

- **Managing stakeholders and priorities**:

- Working with the ‘Lead Business Analyst - Data’ to establish a prioritisation mechanism aligned with the JERAGM Data Strategy and Governance approach
- Ensuring clear definition, agreement, prioritisation and management of scope with stakeholders
- Maintaining an understanding of the implications of changing business needs
- Ensuring proactive communications to all stakeholders to manage the journey of change
- Running meetings to get consensus across large groups and dealing with conflicting views
- **Agile delivery**:

- Working with the ‘Lead Data Engineer’ and ‘Lead Business Analyst - Data’ to design and agree a JERAGM agile process taking elements from standard processes e.g. Scrum, Kanban
- Co-ordinating and facilitating team ceremonies e.g. stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives
- Leading and coaching agile principles and practices, and using a variety of tools and techniques to optimise the team’s flow of delivery
