Role description:
- Function independently as the Project Cost Manager (PCM) working with the Project Director in delivering pre and post contract professional M&E Cost Management services.
Role accountabilities:
- Preparation of cost appraisals, cost plans, cost estimates and project cash-flow.
- Preparation of tender documentation under various contract forms.
- Tender evaluation and recommendation for award.
- Post-contract administration and management including contract documentation, valuation of progress payment, variation assessment, cost control reporting and f inalization of project final accounts.
- Undertaking procurement management, feasibility studies, value management, capital allowances, life-cycle costing, cost analysis.
- Provide support in cost management of projects.
- Work collaboratively with other Cost Managers to manage related issues on the multi-disciplinary projects and liaise with stakeholders on requirements.
- Lead and develop (where necessary), team members to deliver service excellence.
- Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner, meeting, negotiating and corresponding with Clients forming a strong working relationship in true partnership.
- Effective communication ensuring all information is available for the successful completion of projects, to liaise with other Cost Managers to ensure efficient financial control resulting in projects being cost effective.
- Liaise with other Cost Managers to ensure consistency of service delivery and to identify opportunities for developing quality of the service.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Technical knowledge - Measurement and cost estimating using digital tools, construction technology, contracts and law.
- Mechanical and Electrical expertise with sound technical understanding of M&E systems.
- Understand and be familiar with professional practice and contract administration processes.
- Demonstrate proficiency and competency in PCM function and require mínimal supervision.
- Project background in commercial offices fit-out (is preferred)
- Project background in data centre (is preferred)
- Able to work proactively as a team player.
- Ability to communicate clearly both spoken and written.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills.
- Degree in Building, Quantity Surveying, Building Services, Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent from recognized universities
- Diploma in Intelligent Building Technology, Green Building Sustainability, Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering from recognized polytechnic
- Degree graduate or with 3 to 5 years relevant M&E QS / CM experience
- Diploma holders with minimum 5 years relevant M&E QS / CM experience
- Consultancy experience preferred
- Member of Professional Association preferred
