**Sales Specialist, Discovery Genomics**

**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a qualified sales specialist who has knowledge of and experience with the sales process, generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals. We are seeking a quick learner with strong negotiating skills and an ability to present our offerings in a competitive way. The role demands an individual who is both approachable and professional in order to build our reach into new customer segments and markets.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Develop, implement, and achieve team quota through sales planning to achieve set forecasts.
- Work closely with key healthcare, academic and translational institutes to expand user base and drive sales.
- Make cold calls or perform warm outreach, using outside-the-box thinking to develop new and unique sales tactics.
- Prospect new accounts and prepare information for all sales calls to secure new customers.
- Manage sales goals and activities, leads, opportunities, pipeline and forecast (monthly) via CRM.
- Close sales process from quote, evaluation, tender, purchase, delivery, and invoicing.
- Weekly sales forecast and reporting.
- Support marketing campaigns with alignment with functional groups, marcom teams and business partners.
- Any other tasks as assigned.

**Desired Skills and Competencies**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or Biomedical engineering (Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or similar discipline). Technical understanding of next generation sequencing is preferred.
- At least one year of proven hands-on experience in customer facing sales and business development in the genomics, molecular biology, or molecular diagnostic arenas.
- Highly motivated and adaptable to ever-changing client needs and expectations.
- Able to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with varied personalities, including different levels within and outside of the organization.
- Self-starter and strong team player that takes the initiative and develop ideas with the team.
