The School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) provides a vibrant and nurturing environment for staff and students to carry out inter-disciplinary research in key areas such as Computational Materials Science, Characterisation Materials Science, Defence Composite Materials, Functional Composite Materials, Energy, Nanomaterials, Low Dimensional Materials, Biomaterials Materials, Biological Materials, Bioinspired Materials and Sustainable Materials.
PI is seeking to recruit a talented postdoc with a creative mindset and appropriate skillsets to deliver the project of soft grippers, particularly on coatings and interfaces of the soft gripper with its surroundings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and conduct all aspects related to the experimental aspects of the project.- Design and perform experiments related to the development of different types of coatings- Implement the coating on soft gripper (device fabrication or soft robotics or stretchable devices will be advantage) Job Requirements:
- PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, or relevant field- Excellent skillsets in peptide synthesis and self-assembly- Advanced knowledge of coatings and interfaces- Basic knowledge on electrochemistry or electrical devices- Prior knowledge on device fabrication or soft robotics or stretchable devices will be advantage- The position requires interdisciplinary skillset, strong communication skills and ability to manage complexity
