Senior Research Manager, Brand Science

We are looking for a Senior Research Manager. You will be part of a client service team that partners some of our organisation’s largest and most sophisticated clients. These efforts will require the ability to understand client business needs, experience in research design, persuasive proposal writing, and marketing of capabilities to new and existing clients.

We work with Government agencies, multinationals, and NGOs and regularly conduct our own self-funded polling that we share publicly as a way of contributing to current community debate and dialogue.
We also monitor emerging trends both regionally and globally with the main aim of signalling potential changes of significance before they happen or flagging the implications of today’s decisions for the future.

The incumbent will assist research leaders at Blackbox and are responsible for supporting the quality of research output as well as the engagement and client management of the practice area. You are recognised and seen as having a strong expertise base within Marketing Research. Experience of working with Ethnography, Semiotics, Design Thinking, UI/UX are also valuable to the role, and you will:
- Manage, supervise, and execute all phases of market research studies - proposal, design, fieldwork, analysis, report writing and presentation - and ensure that they meet time, quality, and cost expectations
- Take a consultative approach and serve as a strategic partner to clients. You will discuss marketing issues/business problems with clients throughout the market research projects, from proposal to in-person presentation with senior audiences
- Work collaboratively across Blackbox divisions and partners to identify appropriate products and services and offer integrated solutions to meet client research needs
- Support Project/Research Leads to review proposals and presentations to ensure that they are delivering key thinking on clients’ business issues
- Proactively work with cross-functional department managers to continuously improve process and ensure their understanding and expectations of current and future client needs and requirements
- Supervise the work of interns, Research Executives and/or Senior Research Executives, and contribute to their growth and career development
- Help drive the future of the company by contributing to the improvement of our product and services offered in the region
- Support managers in growing existing client accounts, winning new client accounts, and developing new business streams
**Critical Technical, Professional and Personal Capabilities**
- At least 4 to 6+ years pf relevant work experience in market research
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in any of the following areas: marketing science, data analytic, communications, marketing, or business
- Strong analytical skills, creative problem-solving skills, and marketing acumen
- Demonstrable expertise designing and conducting market research; diverse practical experience in different research methods
- Strong writing skills and unwavering commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable presenting to clients and stakeholders and able to diplomatically respond to conflicting client needs
- Excellent project management skills and proven ability to navigate a fluid and dynamic environment with multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
- Possess a curious mindset, comfortable with ambiguity, and has a passion for uncovering consumer insights
- Strong research discipline and exposure, with ability to synergise both quantitative and qualitative research
- Entrepreneurial and proactive attitude
- Experience and/or interest in people management
