DESIGNATION : Head, Data Analytics (Enterprise Information Systems), IITS

RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position is for Integrated Information Technology Services (IITS).
- Define and develop the University’s enterprise data analytics strategy and roadmap.
- Lead the conceptualisation, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of enterprise data platform, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) models, data analytics and solutions, both in the cloud and on-premise, to solve business problems and derive business insights.
- Recruit, grow, mentor, develop and motivate team members.
- Set goals/ targets for team, and drive action plans to closure.
- Engage and guide users to identify descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics needs and opportunities so as to empower users with actionable data in making informed decisions.
- Define, enhance and drive AI / ML, analytics design and development practices, standards, processes, tools and templates, including security and usability standards for on-premise and cloud-hosted software solutions.
- Manage projects (both in-house and outsourced) to ensure that proposed technical solutions are sound, and the defined service levels and schedules are met with satisfaction.
- Translate project strategy into tasks/activities and manage risks within each phase of the project.
- Ensure high quality of deliverables from the team.
- Form good user relations and cultivate trust among users and staff.
- Ensure prompt and efficient support services for the end users, including request and issue management.
- Conduct reviews to gather user feedback and plan for continuous improvements.
- Assist supervisor in strategic planning and budgeting.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, IT or related discipline.
- 8 to 10 years of relevant experience with good track record of enterprise data analytics / AI / ML design, development and implementation, project management, and business analysis with at least 3 years in a people management role.
- Extensive design and development experience for on-premise and cloud-hosted data warehousing / analytics / AI and machine learning models and solutions. Certification in Data Science and Higher Education domain knowledge will be advantageous.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python and R, AI / ML frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow, and data visualisation tools like Qlik Sense development and administration.
- Strong management skills in team, project, change, outsourcing / vendor and contract management.
- Excellent interpersonal, persuasive and communication skills (both oral and written skills are essential).
- Able to work well with people at different levels of the organization.
- Ability to provide a balanced view of a problem situation, good problem solver and able to guide team to analyse complex business issues and provide effective solutions.
- Good knowledge of software development life cycles, software engineering and security best practices and quality standards.
