**Job role**
- The MEP Manager is responsible for overseeing the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing aspects of large-scale & diverse construction projects for clients from Japan or internationally in Singapore. This role demands strong technical expertise in MEP systems and excellent bilingual communication skills (English and Japanese) to coordinate effectively with local project teams and Japanese-speaking clients. Exceptional presentation skills are required to communicate effectively, report, and attend regular meetings with the Japanese parent company and clients based in various countries worldwide.
- Manage the execution of various types of construction project work, including commercial facilities, hospitals, mixed-use developments, production facilities, warehouses, research facilities, and residences, and verify the construction, installation, assembly, and completion of activities for components, equipment, and systems.
- He/she will also assess compliance with relevant regulatory and legal requirements.
- They are also able to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, possessing strong project management and planning skills.
- Meticulous and detail-oriented, with strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills to facilitate stakeholder management and onsite operations.
**Job description**
- Lead, direct & oversee the MEP design review, value engineering, and constructability analysis during the pre-construction phase. Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure integrated MEP systems design and installation. Schedule, monitor, and manage MEP works to ensure alignment with overall project timelines.
- Provide strategic insight, experience, and expertise with project management and construction teams through the skills and knowledge to execute diverse construction projects and lead projects to successful completion.
- Ensure that progress and key project issues are assessed, managed, and reported to the board of directors from Singapore Regional Group of Companies as well as the parent company in Japan on a regular and timely basis.
- Manage and oversee the project team, including external project managers, design consultants and contractors, to meet their deliverables, to an adequate standard, on time and not compromise the project specifications. Be responsible for tracking, recording, and managing the progress and quality of the construction along with handover and closeout deliverables.
- Proactively ensure all commercial, contractual and procurement activities on the projects are managed in a timely and transparent manner and avoid any cost and time risk to the Projects. Closely monitor, manage, and report on project.
- Identify all necessary statutory approvals and subsequently manage and achieve them as planned to prevent any delays in the projects. Ensure that the company’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, along with project-specific plans for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) aspects, are proactively communicated and consistently enforced. Additionally, identify, manage, and mitigate project risks associated with MEP throughout all phases of the project.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with all project stakeholders - upstream and downstream on relevant topics.
- Manage project documentation by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) standards.

**Job requirements**
- Degree or Master in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing/piping, fire protection systems, and building automation & familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, BIM coordination tools, and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Japanese language proficiency at the level of JLPT N1 is a minimum requirement for conducting business, preparing reports, and translating complex technical content between Japanese and English and presentations that may be required by the company's management, board of directors, and stakeholders. Similar English language skills and knowledge are a plus.
- Excellent leadership, time management, analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Skilled in managing and motivating diverse, multi-functional, multi-cultural project teams. Organized, with a positive work attitude.
- Able to implement Construction Project Management good practices.
