Our Engineers support internal and external manufacturing operations remain operational, continuously improve and innovate. With our extensive range of facilities and environments, our Engineers have opportunities across many diverse areas including Biological, Chemical, Automation, Capital Projects, Maintenance, Safety, Process Development, Technical Services, Utilities and Validation.

As part of the Pharmaceutical Technical Operations (PTO) team in Singapore, the PTO Chemist supports the site activities with support from seniors or supervisors (seeking support /escalating when needed), through analytical and technical support on deviations/investigations and performing organic chemistry experiments in the laboratory. The PTO Chemist also maintains the compliance and safety standards of the PTO laboratory and conduct/coordinate calibration/verification/maintenance activities of the laboratory instruments.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
- Supports new product introductions to the site by performing analytical method familiarization/evaluation. Provides analytical support during process laboratory familiarization runs, plant developmental campaigns and process validation campaigns.
- Provides analytical support for investigations across the sites, including performing analysis on Extraneous Matter.
- Manages laboratory instruments by performing instrument qualification, scheduling calibration and maintenance activities, and completes annual performance monitoring and periodic review.
- Manages communications and engagement with external laboratories for external testing services.
- Managing laboratory logistics/inventory and procurement of equipment/instruments and chemicals/consumables.
- Assist in maintaining good housekeeping of the laboratory
- Perform routine checks on laboratory safety equipment and
- Provides support to quality/compliance audits.
- Complies with all divisional and site-specific policies, guidelines and procedures.
- Demonstrates and promotes Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) leadership behaviors, ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with EHS requirements. Actively participates in GEMBA safety walks.
- Where applicable, develops SOPs, gap analyses and procedures for Quality/EHS subsystems/ topics in compliance with regulatory requirements, divisional and corporate policies and guidelines.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

**WHAT YOU MUST HAVE**
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Materials Science or Pharmaceutical Sciences with 0-2 years technical experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
- Or Diploma in Chemistry or Biochemistry with minimum 4 years experience in organic bench laboratory work and analytical testing (both spectroscopic and chromatographic), are desired, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in setting up and running organic lab experiments and operating analytical instruments (e.g. GC, HPLC, KF Titrator, FTIR).
- An excellent team player who is able to readily take on responsibilities and work independently
