Systems Administrator

**Job Descriptions**:

- Work along with the Project teams to install/configure project infrastructure and setup environments
- Automate provisioning new AWS Cloud environments, Virtual Machines, Databases using standardised templates or standard machine images
- Work with network team, security team to whitelist necessary firewall ports required by Dev team
- Work closely with the development team, operation team, DevSecOps team to support DevOps strategy and to install toolset that suits the individual squads.
- Setup, deploy and maintain scalable, high availability systems with necessary Disaster Recovery setup
- Perform and automate deployment and security hardening of systems
- Support DevSecOps team to automate and build up scalable systems/environment using latest technologies (e.g., OpenShift Container Orchestration, Gitlab, AWS Cloud Formation Templates, Secrets Manager, Cloud Watch and various DevSecOps tools, etc)
- Automate Infrastructure provisioning for different environment setup based on industry best practice
- Setup and maintain integration for all infra provisioned/environments
- Writing scripts/programs for service monitoring and health check of systems
- Day-to-day monitoring, backup, deployment and maintenance of systems

**Required Skillsets**:

- Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in system administration on Linux, Windows
- Hands-on experience in new system setup, system hardening and basic infrastructure system tools
- Possess good technical knowledge in implementing, troubleshoot, performance tuning of Databases like MS SQL Server, Oracle and Middleware technologies like WebLogic, IIS, Jboss, Microsoft MQ, Rabbit MQ
- Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and fixing issues reported in Databases and Middleware
- Experience with PowerShell/Bash Shell scripting and automation of Windows/Linux tasks using scripts
- Experience with cloud orchestration, configuration management and auto-scaling techniques
- Experience in in-depth troubleshooting, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of technical issues, provide resolution/mitigation steps and generate Incident report.
- Thorough knowledge of networking, routers, switches, and Wi-Fi setup.
- Good knowledge of NAS, SAN, SDS, TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, routings
- Prior knowledge of OpenShift, Kubernetes, CIS standards is preferred, but not mandatory
- Good hands-on experience on using AWS Cloud Formation scripts for configuration management
- Prior experience in automating Database deployments, OS Patches is preferred, but not mandatory

**Desired Educational Qualification & Soft skills**:

- Diploma/Degree in any technical/engineering discipline
- Minimum 3 - 5 years in software development industry or server infrastructure setup
- Minimum 1-year experience working closely with infrastructure. Experience in Linux, Windows, network troubleshooting is a plus
- Team player and self-motivated and driven, Good written and verbal communication skills and able to work independently with mínimal supervision as well as in a team
- Experience on working in an Agile environment, in a close collaboration with developers
- Basic understanding of DevOps/DevSecOps principles and practices will be an added advantage
- Have strong system design and trouble-shooting skills
- Excellent people skills, communication skills with the ability to handle pressure
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities
- Willingness to explore and pick up technologies
