JOB DESCRIPTION:
**Starting Pay Rate**:$21.54 - $25.34/HR, DOE
The **Gift Shop Supervisor **oversees the day-to-day operation including leading and supervising Gift Shop Sales Associates and Guest Services Representatives. Responsible for delivering an exceptional experience for every guest. Manages inventory and merchandising. Responsible for retail sales, admission ticket sales, maintaining displays, and the cleanliness of the Gift Shop.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
**Primary Duties, Responsibilities, and Tasks**:
- Leads and directs Gift Shop staff in daily operations.
- Trains, mentors, develops, coaches, resolves problems, provides open communication vehicles, and recommends disciplinary action as appropriate.
- Maintains strong knowledge about products and communicates with and educates guests.
- Utilizes strong listening skills to promote and sell merchandise.
- Maintains and builds professional and sincere relationships with guests.
- Models guest service behaviors to Team Members, provides high levels of guest service at all times.
- Adheres to, enforces, and communicates policies and procedures to Gift Shop Team Members.
- Observes, trains, and remedies guest service issues.
- Verifies daily transactions and processes end of the day reports.
- Ensures proper credit, check cashing and cash handling procedures are performed by Gift Shop Team Members.
- Ensures effective and accurate utilization of the Point-of-Sale system.
- Ensures retail and storage areas remain neat, clean, and well stocked at all times.
- Informs the Museum Operations Manager of issues that require immediate attention in regard to equipment, facility, procedures, transactions, Team Member actions and guest experiences.
- Assists with inventory control, notifying management of any shortages.
- Participates in monthly and annual physical inventory process.

- Performs other duties as assigned.
**Required Qualifications**:
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
- Three years of retail operations, customer service, or related experience.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Proficiency in 10-key and computerized cash register.
- Native American hiring preference applies.

- Clear vision (close, distant, peripheral, and depth perception) is needed for navigating office and casino environments; reading and reviewing reports and policies; operating data processing equipment; and other essential job functions.

- The Team Member is frequently required to sit and use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel.
- The Team Member is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
- The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
**Working Conditions**:
- While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is occasionally exposed to tobacco smoke, moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
