**The Role**
Reporting to AVP, ARS (Alternative Reinsurance Solutions) Business Proposition, the Business Development Support Manager / Senior Specialist will be responsible for preparing external and internal parties for ARS transaction execution and facilitating the end-to-end process internally. ARS transactions usually deploy complex reinsurance solutions that potentially involve significant asset transfer to address clients need. The role is key in ensuring transaction complying with various internal guidelines and been executed within the agreed timeframe.
Some flexibility of working hours is required due to the interaction of this role with individuals based in Europe or North America. It will therefore be necessary to work at the appropriate times to ensure the successful delivery of work items.
**Duties**
**Facilitating external discussions for ARS opportunities**
- Work closely with the BDMs and ARS Director to facilitate and support the sales and negotiation process with the client.
- Participate in client meetings and follow up promptly with internal stakeholders in order to maintain good turnaround time.
- Document key communications with clients and keep audit trail for complying with applicable operating guidelines.
- May involve occasional business travel to designated market.
**Facilitating internal approval for ARS quotations**
- Together with Pricing team, facilitate ARS transaction’s internal approval when such transaction enters binding quotation stage.
- Maintain the internal approval check list for ARS transaction to ensure completeness of internal governance process including senior forums like ARMC, ABM, DRMC etc.
- Document and follow up with stakeholders to ensure resolution of issues that arise during the quotation process to maximize the chance of a successful outcome
**Facilitating execution of non-GFS transactions**
- Own and regularly update ARS FOM non-GFS end-to-end process map.
- Support BDMs on drafting of treaty and contractual agreements with legal input for external and internal reviews, project manage the new treaty signing process to ensure all deliverables are met and treaties are executed within deadlines, ensure treaty signing procedure is governance compliance and necessary approvals are obtained on time.
- Document clearly the tasks by CA, Finance and OPs in the process map and facilitate sign-off by various HoD on operation readiness for new transactions.
- Organize operation readiness meetings and monitor execution timeline closely with ARS Director to ensure successful completion of execution readiness before transaction effective date.
- Maintain regular contact with supporting colleagues in Business Service team to ensure resource availability for completing operation readiness for successful quotations.
**ARS Strategy and MI**
- Regularly conduct in-depth market research in collaboration with market BDMs to support continuous strategy review per market.
- Develop and own ARS MI that includes monitoring new business pipelines and achievements against plan targets; inforce monitoring with regard to key contract terms.
- Assist in inforce management, including loss ratio, lapse exposure amount, collateral and currency exposure etc. monitoring.
- Work with client to improve data quality and timeliness for internal use.
**Supporting new ARS propositions**
- Assist the development of selected propositions (IFRS17) that will go through internal business case assessment. And support the promotion of approved propositions to target markets.
- Assist the delivery on other allocated strategic projects, including final presentation to executive management, both locally and to Division Centre. Strategic projects will range in focus from research to new lines of business or new markets.
**Qualifications & Experience**
- BS/BA in Business, Actuarial Science or related degree with at least 5 years of insurance, reinsurance or banking experience.
- Previous experience of working in a reinsurance company will be an advantage; possess strong understanding of Reinsurance terminology and working practices across multiple areas
- Experience in managing projects and a track record of handling multiple tasks, clients, and internal stakeholders simultaneously with the ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Demonstrate good flexibility and resourcefulness in terms of securing supports from stakeholders with competing priorities.
- Being able to communicate at various levels according to the needs of the conversation.
- Possess good negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Results oriented and able to work under pressure.
- Good understanding of at least two of the following: Solvency II, BMA, US GAAP, Economic Capital. Knowledge in Korea and Japan valuation and capital bases, CROSS will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of constructing liability driven asset portfolio will be a plus.
