Reporting to the Senior Vice President in Financial Lines, this role sits in the Underwriting, Reinsurance & Claims department, and will function as a Cyber specialist to oversee and evaluate underwriting referrals for our business units in Asia (BUs), and develop our Cyber insurance business to help our BUs achieve their Cyber profitable growth objectives.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Accountable for the business performance and underwriting results of the Cyber business in MSIG
- Underwrite and manage the Cyber portfolio to sustain long-term growth with profitability. Ensure all risks are accepted and underwritten in accordance with MSIG’s guidelines.
- Maintain a broad network of brokerage relationships, relationships with suitable MSIG agency companies, and expand distribution opportunities as appropriate
- Broaden and deepen the Cyber insurance capabilities in MSIG through training, coaching and knowledge transfer
- Assist in product development, business development, and claims support and advice, to ensure achievement of sustainable and profitable growth objectives of the companies
- Assist in managing BU quarterly premium submissions and build portfolio analysis tools
- Support in finetuning systems, processes and workflows for the Cyber functions in MSIG, ensuring all stakeholders experience a service quality commensurate with our ambition to be a leader in service quality
- Ensure compliance with all laws, regulatory provisions, and Group policies as are relevant to the role
**Requirements**:
- Degree holder, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or any other related fields
- Insurance-related professional qualification(s)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry, with at least five years in Cyber insurance product and business development and underwriting
- Understanding of financial statements, credit risk and insurance financial fundamentals, and impact of underwriting decisions on company assets
- Ability to identify risk exposures, special or common hazards and appropriate controls
- Strong track record in business development, with business acumen to understand business and market requirements
- Excellent analytical skills with creative and strategic thinking and planning
- Excellent negotiation, problem solving, decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Skilled in coaching, delegating and providing feedback to develop junior underwriters in underwriting best practices
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $12,500.00 - $16,700.00 per month
