A Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day to day activities in the laboratory. This includes supervision of laboratory personnel, quality control, equipment maintenance and overseeing the collection, analysing and ultimate use of lab data.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for method validation & verification and ISO 17025 accreditation processes.
- Manage, plan, and direct the laboratory to ensure analytical testing provides the highest quality analytical support while ensuring compliance with protocols and safety regulations.
- Plan and control all testing activities to meet client’s delivery requirements and optimize laboratory capacity utilization.
- Responsible in recruiting and training junior or intern, mapping development matrix for chemists.
- Conduct training to increase staff knowledge and understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) requirements, product chemistry and sophisticated laboratory equipment.
- Conduct laboratory investigations, ensure all follow-up actions are completed and make decisions based on scientific and logical reasoning.
- Manage, investigate, and communicate any out of specification results timeously to quality assurance and technical services for further communication to the factories, and supplier networks in order to ensure that follow-up actions are requested to be provided to quality assurance.
- Review the results of all laboratory investigations, sampling, and testing of materials, work in progress products, finished products, competitor products.
- Review and investigate all laboratory data outside of trend, out of specification, suspicious, and wayward data by conducting trending analysis.
- Establish and implement a cost ratio by identifying the best approach for testing i.e., prove testing is needed, cost efficiency by outsourcing to third party laboratories or reduced testing with the support of trend analysis reports.
- Participate and lead projects e.g. method development, authenticity testing, product quality improvement, technical services and continuous improvement.
- Responsible in driving continuous improvement activities in the laboratory.
- Comprehend chemical and physical analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, stability samples, and non-routine samples.
- Participate in sensory sessions and packaging integrity checks.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science or related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in laboratory or QA/QC and 1-year supervisory experience
- Familiar with ISO 17025 accreditation.
- Prior working experience in a laboratory or food and beverages industries would be an advantage.
- Experienced in operating laboratory equipment such as GC, HPLC, ICPOES, Karl Fisher, Carbon Isotope Analyzer would be an advantage.
- Understand Measurement Uncertainty, Method Validation, and Decision Rules is a plus.
- Willing to travel.
- Fluent in English; any familiarity in the following languages is a plus: Chinese, Thai, Tagalog, Malay
