Job Title: Laboratory Supervisor

Are you a skilled laboratory professional looking for a challenging role where you can utilize your expertise to ensure the quality of products? Do you have experience in supervising a team and implementing processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness?

  • As a Laboratory Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with operating standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day activities of a team of laboratory assistants who check, test, and inspect raw materials, goods in process, and finished products.
  • Prioritize and assign tasks to ensure that team resources are used effectively, and work schedules and targets are met.
  • Assist the Quality Manager in classifying final products and reworked lots.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and investigating quality issues, implementing improvements from analysis gap studies.
  • Monitor in-process samples, liaise with production teams for preventive and corrective actions.
  • Prepare activity and progression reports to identify recurring problems with product quality or testing procedures.
  • Monitor staff, equipment, and laboratory processes to ensure quality control system effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Prepare quality and budget reports and updates.
  • Train lab assistants and shift technicians on laboratory work.
  • Supervise and coach team members.
  • Support QC department functions onsite and off-site as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in a chemical-related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience in laboratory testing (wet chemistry).
  • Ability to supervise and lead a team of laboratory assistants.
  • Good understanding of laboratory equipment such as GC, AAS, Auto-titrator, NIR.
  • Experience with manual testing.

Work Environment: The job involves working in a laboratory setting with exposure to chemicals and other hazardous materials. You must be able to handle this environment safely and effectively.
