Principal Specialist, Strategy Innovation

Strategy Innovation is the innovation arm within the National Trades Union Congress. It is housed under the Strategy unit, which has responsibility for supporting NTUC to develop, manage and coordinate all key strategy development and management processes. Strategy Innovation oversees the U Innovation Lab efforts and focuses on creating an innovation ecosystem within NTUC to support the innovation efforts of NTUC staff and business units. This involves working closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement groundbreaking solutions that enhance the well-being and productivity of Singapore's workforce.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
**Project Management and Execution**
- Lead and manage innovation projects from ideation to implementation, ensuring successful delivery within defined timelines and budgetary constraints
- Oversee project teams, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to drive innovation, problem-solving, and effective collaboration
- Document the process, outcomes and learning points for each project
**Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement**
- Establish partnerships with IHLs, Associations, Employers, Government Agencies, Foundations, NGOs, and bring together partners for the various innovation projects
- Identify potential funding opportunities and grants to support the lab's initiatives and sustainability
- Collaborate with relevant NTUC business units in outreach efforts to different worker segments for innovation projects
**Ensure alignment of U Innovation Lab to NTUC's vision and mission**
- Develop and execute the overall strategy and roadmap for the Innovation Lab in alignment with the NTUC's objectives
- Evaluate innovation projects based on a set of metrics and ensure alignment to helping workers achieve continual growth through gainful employment, protected interests, and support for families
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and provide thought leadership on innovation and industry trends through workshops, seminars, and publications
**Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience**
- University degree in a relevant field, such as but not limited to: Anthropology, Social Sciences, Data Science, Design, Economics, Ethnography, Engineering, Philosophy, Public Policy
- At least 5 years’ professional experience
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and synthesise information from various sources
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, think out of the box, challenge herd thinking, conceptualise and create practical and workable solutions
- Keen interest in current affairs, in tune with prevailing political, economic, and social trends
- Independent, self-driven, and responsible individual
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships and engage with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Passion for driving positive change, improving worker well-being, and shaping the future of work
