Technical Consultant

Tasks
- Develops and executes the Technical Consulting activities within the sub team to support the Segment in achieving short and long term business objectives, increased profit and market growth.
- Executes department policies according to guidance from Team Lead as well as Head of Technical Consulting.
- Ensures compliance with company policies & procedures and takes appropriate action when breached.
- Supports with Technical Consulting to prepare for over-proportional profitable growth in the Sales Channels.
- The incumbent is responsible for executing the segment's strategy in her/his respective area.

Area of responsibility / tasks
- Strategy Development
- Supports the Head of Technical Consulting and Team Lead Technical Consulting in any kinds of strategic questions"
- Consults customers (OEMs, End User, Distributors) within the regions in belt conveying technology and CBG products
- Conducts field inspections of belts, conveyor systems and other products to troubleshoot perceived problems for customers
- Attends strategic meetings with customers (OEMs, End User, Distributors) and conveyor design engineers on upcoming new product needs
- Performs trainings for customers (OEMs, End User, Distributors) in the regions on product and belt conveying technology
- Supports project lead in technical part of big/customer projects upon request
- Applies product engineering tools; specifies requirements and gives input for improvements of the software"

Article Specification
- Designs products based on Master Specifications
- Creates specifications of products
- Supports internal projects for product specification tools
- Supports with representation of company interests in regional and global standardization committees and interest groups
- Sales Channel, KAM & MarCom Support
- Supports Sales Channels, KAM & MarCom
- Supports Sales teams in quotation process, risk evaluation, feasibility checks, contract review regarding technical aspects and technical check of customer requirements
- Supports Sales on customer visits and award negotiations
- Prepares technical data, photos & videos for relevant events and products
- Attends on exhibitions, fairs & conferences
- Trains colleagues from other departments on products & systems
- Presents and publicates technical papers
- Supports on customer visits to CBG plants
- Tracks belt performance & collects BIG DATA"

R&D Support
- Supports BU funnel process with new products/ideas to enable Product Management to execute Business Cases
- Supports competitive technical benchmarking by understanding competitive offerings in the regions, supplying competitive samples and placing request to R&D for testing and analysis
- Coordinates and conducts field trials and follow-up for product performance evaluation

Performs on site inspections to review product performance and initiates product optimization or development projects participate in projects for new product development or product optimization projects in the region"

Quality & Complaint Management
- Safeguards committed standards of quality guidelines (internal and external), quality awareness, customer quality targets and observes customer care commitments

Conducts internal root cause analysis or on customer site including previous site visit reports, BIG DATA and internal or external testing Provides technical support for out of spec products to prevent returns or warranty claims
- Ensures that all operations are performed in compliance with relevant local, state and federal laws and regulations
- Provides product and cost saving ideas to BU funnel process and BU manufacturing

**Qualifications**:

- University degree in Engineering or Science (Mechanical Engineering preferred; Chemical, materials Engineering, considered)
- Technical or science studies (university / university of applied science)
- IT Systems knowledge Process A (advanced)

Intercultural / International Experience
- Experience with working in intercultural & interdisciplinary teams of advantage
