It’s an exciting time to join us RWE Supply & Trading has recently introduced a new cloud based data analytics platform and as part of a new and expanding team we are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to play key role in the roll out of our platform to users in the US and support them on building their data solutions

Using the latest tech, the Lead in Data (LiD) platform has revolutionized the searching, sharing, transforming and on-boarding of Data within our organization. Data is the fundamental backbone to the company’s trading and analysis communities as well as support functions and will become an ever increasing asset across the group in the future.

We are looking for a keen, motivated tech enthusiast to join us. Someone who wants to contribute in shaping the future data needs of our organization in close collaboration with our business stakeholders, and support the team in defining the platform roadmap.

**You will**:

- Provide local support of our Data & Analytics platform. You will work directly with our US business teams to come up with technical designs on how will utilize the platform and showcase best practices when building data pipelines.
- Become a member of a global multidisciplinary team of Data and DevOps Engineers delivering features and enhancements for our platform.
- Work in a supportive collaborative environment focused on delivering value to our users.
- Be a real technical problem solver, be able to work independently on solutions and the platform with a can-on attitude.
- Keep up to date with new trends in Data Analytics always looking to new solutions to solve complex problems.
- Work closely with the respective IT functions within the US offices, particularly within the Data space (Market Data IT, Embedded IT etc.).
- Take ownership of the technical design of new use cases and ETL jobs taking into consideration robustness, performance availability and maintainability of our strategic data platform.

**Your powerful skills**
- A degree in, or related to Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Experience in building, operating and/or supporting robust and scalable big data platforms.
- The ability to translate business requirements into a technical design. Review and further improve existing technical designs.
- Hands on experience with working with visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau)
- Experience in development and scripting (e.g. Python, SPARK, Ruby, Bash, SQL)
- Knowledge of key data engineering concepts (Parquet, Delta, Iceberg etc.)
- Practical working experience in utilizing and operating AWS cloud services.
- Understanding of operational aspects like high availability, monitoring, security, robustness.
- Knowledge in DevOps best practices
