**About Ascenda, Retail Brands**

As a vital member of the Retail Brands team, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining the integrations with Gift Card, Offers, and Merchandise suppliers to ensure our platform has a rich selection of content for our users. You’ll work closely with product managers and business development to understand our content needs and develop efficient and scalable integration solutions.

**As a Senior Software Engineer with the team you will**:

- Develop backend features using modern-day frameworks (like Rails), and also sometimes work with frontend development stacks (like Next.js and Angular).
- Implement best practices for performance optimization and accessibility.
- Help own & coordinate major delivery timelines for the projects you own
- Solve big data & hi-traffic problems from the many suppliers we integrate across the ecosystem - problems of performance, tenancy, self-serve configurations
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and reusable code.
- Work closely with designers, product owners, and engineers from multiple teams to develop and design solid user experiences.
- Mentor and guide the growth of junior developers, and act as a gatekeeper for our Content team's engineering practices and development culture

**What we're looking for**:

- Deep experience in backend programming languages such as Ruby, Golang, or any other relevant languages. 3+ years experience in building backends that interact with SPA frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, etc. Prior experience with our stack (**Ruby on Rails, Angular**) would be a bonus
- Have experience participating in technical roadmaps/RFCs to communicate technical strategy and resolve architectural problems. Have experience mentoring and coaching your junior engineers.
- You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and with teams across the organization
- You are passionate about efficiency, availability, technical quality and system quality.
- At least 3 years of development experience.
