**Purpose of Position**
Main role of Officer of Contracts and Trade Support will be to support in negotiations, preparation and management of physical trading contracts for deals resulting from trading activities for the Ferrous Raw Materials Division and to undertake such activities within agreed compliance and risk management frameworks in accordance with RtM International’s policies so as to contribute to the achievement of established trade targets.
**Responsibilities**
**1 **Contract Administration (50%)**
- Provide inputs to traders for deal structuring to optimise commercial outcome and smoothen contract performance for RtMI and its counterparty.
- Prepare and vet Division’s and counterparties’ contracts including freight contracts & contract memos in accordance with concluded deal parameters
- Liaise between traders, operations, legal dept on contract status, terms and contract issues
- Function as interface between the Division and counterparties’ contract negotiation and/or operations team, when required
- To propose and negotiate (internally and externally) contractual terms, under the guidance of traders to maximize beneficial outcomes for the Division, balancing client satisfaction and firm objectives.
- Liaise with TOD on matters pertaining to Issuance, monitoring and managing shipping instructions, vessel nominations and related matters.
- Monitor and help to ensure smooth execution of all matters related to letter of credit and insurance documentation (Credit Insurance and ARPS).
- Facilitate the process, if required, between external customer and TOD to calculate and monitor demurrage, claims and other charges as per contract and C/P (Charter party) to avoid /minimize demurrage and/or settle payment with owners / shippers / receivers.
- Manage and coordinate customer / supplier payment terms to ensure timely collection and payment in compliance with contractual terms/conditions.
- Liaise with traders on open positions, vessels’ loading, and other issues pertaining to trading risks
- Coordinate vessel execution with supplier / buyer / port operations and supervision companies.
**2 **Compliance and Trade Support (40%)**
- Perform daily reconciliation of trades with Market Risk / Middle Office to ensure that physical trading positions are represented accurately.
- Ensure that month-end transactions and other internal processes are completed in a timely manner.
- To maintain reporting tools for trade monitoring and trade related activities
- Provide support for systems and processes (e.g., CTRM) by working in collaboration with relevant stakeholders for betterment of Division’s and firm’s trading activities
**3 **Others (10%)**
- Assist to prepare and maintain trade related spreadsheets and data to support the Division’s activities.
- Proactively foresee and highlight the opportunities and risk/exposure
- Any other administrative task as given by manager from time to time
**EXPERIENCE**
- Degree in International Trade, Management, International Business or quantitative-related field.
- Minimum 2 years of contract management experience in dry bulk, preferably in Metallurgical Coal, Metallurgical Coke, and Iron Ore
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Good knowledge of Letter of Credit under UCP 600 & ISBP.
- Knowledge of shipping practices e.g. C/P terms and its relation to sales/purchase of contracts, laytime calculations, C/P B/L requirements, etc including insurance classifications.
- Knowledge of L/C terms and conditions preferred and able to prepare full set of shipping documents in accordance with L/C and contractual requirements.
- Ability to identify and solve day-to-day problems independently.

- Working Hours are from 9am - 5:45pm, will require working beyond working hours depending on customer, supplier and time zone requirements.
