**Opportunity**

We have an interesting opportunity for a Claims Executive to join our Singapore Claims Team to undertake claims handling. You’ll be responsible for handling many different P&I claims, including those that are more difficult and complex, from notification to completion.

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys what they do and has a determined ‘can do’ attitude. A confident communicator, you should also be able to challenge and influence at all levels and liaise and communicate effectively with internal and external partners.

**What will you be doing?**
- Claims handling, including personal injury matters, cargo, claims, property damage claims, collisions, pollution claims.
- Verifying that the risk/claims is covered under the Members entry with the Club.
- Settling third party P&I claims at the most economic figure possible, in accordance with the Rules and the Member’s Terms of Entry.
- Appointing lawyers, surveyors, consultants and to receive and evaluate critically advice received, and act thereon.
- Notifying Reinsurance and make recovers from both the pool and the excess reinsurers, or other contractual parties where appropriate.
- Reporting internally.
- Preparing agendas and reports.

**Ad Hoc Duties**

Your key accountabilities will include such other duties and tasks are as allocated to you at the discretion of management and that are within your capabilities and within the scope of your post.

**About you**

**Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience**
- Degree (preferably in Law).
- Legally qualified lawyer or barrister.
- Previous shipping law experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with individual members.
- Previous Club (P&I) experience would be desirable or previous experience of working in the maritime industry.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
