The Buyer is primarily responsible for the acquisition of company materials and services, management of vendors, and monitoring the flow of goods and services in our supply chain. Quality, On-Time Delivery, and cost management are critical to the success of the company and are the main priorities of the Purchasing Agent.
- Using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) software to determine material and service needs
- Create and maintain Purchase Orders
- Monitor existing open orders to ensure on -time deliveries
- Expedite supplier orders as required to support production
- Analyse costs and negotiate prices for goods and services
- Create and update Supplier Price Lists
- Maintain Supplier Contact information
- Manage In-Transit inventory levels and receipts, especially from intercompany sources.
- Work with Production Scheduler to share supply changes related to PO need dates and material availability.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, quality issues, and cost concerns
- Communicate supply chain information to other departments and management
- Monitor Engineer Change (EC) closely and manage Excess and Obsolescence & slow -moving materials.
- Implement consignment agreements with suppliers, where necessary
- Build vendor base as required.
- Prepare cost analysis reports
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by the superior.

- Proficient in MS office (Excel, Word etc) is highly desired

**Experience Requirements**
- 3-5 years working experience in a purchasing/supply chain role preferably in manufacturing environment
- MRP/ERP experience is preferred - experience with Epicor is a plus

**Education/Certification Requirements**
- Diploma/Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Supply Chain Management, Production, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, Finance, Economics or equivalent
- Proficient in MS Office is highly desirable
