You will be part of the team responsible for the implementation of University-level biosafety/bioregulatory compliance programmes and general workplace safety & health programmes in schools/faculties/research centres/research institutes conducting biomedical research
1. Develop and enhance biosafety policies, standards and training materials pertaining to life sciences research to ensure compliance to national regulations.
2. Manage bioregulatory programmes, liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure legal compliance by researchers conducting life science-related research projects in NUS.
3. Review of research protocols involving life sciences research and ensure compliance to national regulations and guidelines, and NUS policies and standards.
4. Conduct safety audits and inspections for NUS research facilitates to ensure compliance to MOH and other regulatory authorities.
5. Investigate incidents involving life sciences research.
6. Support the development and implementation of Safety & Health Management System for faculties/schools/research centres/research institutes conducting biomedical research
7. Participate in corporate projects.Qualifications
- Postgraduate Degree in Life Sciences with microbiological knowledge and at least 3 years of biosafety experience in a biomedical laboratory
- Awareness of local safety regulations and some experience in developing and implementing Workplace Safety & Health Management System and programmes
- Understanding of the scientific and safety-related issues of biomedical research protocols and ability to review the risk assessments of such protocols
- Knowledge and understanding of biosafety and biosecurity principles, policies, and procedures
- Effective communication (verbal and technical writing) skills, excellent customer service skills with attention to detail
- Qualifications such as Biosafety Coordinator and OHSAS 18001/ ISO 45001 Lead Auditor or equivalent would be an added advantage.More Information
