Our client is a industry leader in the logistics and freight forwarding business, looking for a General Manager that is responsible for strategising and providing the overall strategic direction of the organisation within guidelines set by a board of directors, translating the organisation's vision and goals into action steps with the help of a management team.
The General Manager is also responsible for managing overall organisational resources and represents the organisation with clients, investors and business partners.
The General Manager's day to day responsibilities include but not limited to:
Driveand expand recurring revenue streams within the framework of theorganisations vision and overall objectives
Drivedevelopment of business continuity and succession management formission critical roles that have financial impact to theorganisation
Fostera value-based culture and a culture of accountability in theorganisation
Leadhigh-performing teams, attract and retain talent, providementorship and guidance to management
Cultivatestrong relationships with public and private sectorstakeholders
Provideoverall and strategic leadership, develop long-term planning andlead to realise the organisation's growth agenda
Driveimprovements to the organisation's operations through feedbackand identification of issues
Drivethe organisation's governance, compliance issues and reporting,including but not limited to sound fiscal management
Driveorganisational transformation projects and programmesdevelopment
**Key Skills and Requirements**:
Degree in Business and/or Logistics/Supply Chain Management
At least eight years of experience in Logistics or related jobscope industry
Strong relationship building skills
Experience with managing a lean team
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
