Designation: Senior Counsellor/Senior Social Worker - Family Support Services
Responsibilities
Casework and Counselling- Conduct counselling for individuals, couples and families who are experiencing stress due to family-related issues with moderate complex cases. Includes Online counselling.
- Identify, assessment and manage risks inherent in complex cases by integrating a range of information and screening tools.
- Plan, review and facilitate groupwork intervention for parents and children.
- Facilitate premarital and divorce related programmes and workshops to help equip couples and parents with knowledge that enhance relationships and skills to cope with life transitions.
- Provide programme, practice/clinical and administrative supervision to Assistant Senior Counsellor/Social Worker and/or intern using screening tools and organisational practice framework to guide staff in case assessment and case planning.
- Lead and guide Assistant Senior Counsellor/Social worker to case manage and conduct case conference.
- Prepare, review and endorse court reports.
- Assess supervisees' capabilities and identify training needs to enhance supervisees' professional growth.
- Conduct quarterly performance appraisal of the Assistant Senior Counsellors/Social workers.
- Lead in research to build domain-specific knowledge in the local context.
- Review research evidence to implement, facilitate and evaluate groupwork and programme.
- Review and plan the training road map of practitioners to ensure continuous development of the practitioners.
- Lead in implementation of standard of care, organisational health policies, procedures.
- Conduct internal training for team / Service Point.
- Plan and conduct networking and advocacy sessions with community partners/stakeholders.
- Advocate for target families, with the aim for families to have access to equal opportunities through collaborative practice with community partners/stakeholders and funders.
- Support the Centre Manager in the implementation of practice standards, protocols, processes and policies.
Requirements:
- Master Degree in Counselling or Bachelor Degree in Social Work, preferably with a recognised certification in Counselling.
- As a Senior Counsellor should have around 8 years of relevant casework/counselling experience in education, counselling, social work, or related work involving family, parents and children, and have experience in conducting training and workshops.
- Proven leadership track record in previous experiences.
- Accredited member of SASW and/or clinical member of SAC as well as preferably Registered Clinical Supervisor of SAC.
