Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer - Renewable Energy and Water
About the Role:
This position is for a skilled mechanical design engineer with extensive experience in designing systems for renewable energy and water treatment plants. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, as well as experience with CAD software and project management tools.
Main Responsibilities:
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and reviewing the design of mechanical systems to ensure quality, safety, and technical standards are met.
  • They will produce and review all design deliverables, including design specifications, schedules, drawings, and calculations.
  • The candidate will also review clients' or third-party designs and information to determine suitability and liaise with those concerned to obtain further information if necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering and approximately 8 years of experience in mechanical design works are essential. Experience in the water and wastewater industry is preferred. Additionally, candidates should have a comprehensive knowledge of CAD and BIM design, as well as experience with pump calculations, hydraulic calculations, P&IDs, Process Flow Diagrams, and technical specifications. General experience in other discipline criteria associated with water and/or wastewater treatment, including civil, process, EICA, and project management, will be an advantage. A general understanding of client regulatory environments and budget management experience will also be beneficial. The ability to rationalize designs and produce economic plant layouts is crucial.
