Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with business units to identify, analyze, and mitigate legal risks associated with various business operations or documentation
Assist with strategic business footprint expansion efforts from a legal perspective
Contribute to the development and implementation of organization policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. Effectively communicate policies to relevant stakeholders
Review, draft, and negotiate a diverse range of commercial and internal agreements, including but not limited to vendor contracts, client agreements, partnership agreements, new product contracts, employee performance contracts, and intra-company service agreements
Work in tandem with the Risk teams to interpret regulatory changes and address any inquiries from regulatory authorities, helping the Group maintain compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines
When necessary, assist in resolving legal disputes and manage litigation matters, and/or coordinating efforts with external counsel on such matters
Conduct legal research to support business growth
Stay abreast of pertinent legal and regulatory developments within the financial services sector across various jurisdictions
Support the Head of Legal in ad hoc legal matters such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and funding, outsourcing agreements, or other documents needed for the organization to operate effectively and grow
Advise where possible, opportunities for us to improve the client (internal/external) experience related to contracting or contract updates
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Law or equivalent qualification
At least 2 years in a legal capacity within the financial services industry - Payment Services, Banks, Insurance Companies
Comprehensive knowledge of MAS regulations and compliance procedures, particularly in relation to the Payment Services Act (PSA), Securities and Futures Act (SFA), and Financial Advisers Act (FAA)
Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities to convey legal insights effectively
Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work autonomously in high-pressure environments
Strong analytical skills to navigate regulatory complexities and provide practical solutions
