What the role is:

You will work with a team of epidemiologists and biostatisticians as well as stakeholders involved in communicable disease preparedness, policy, surveillance, and response. Your responsibilities include designing, implementing, and analyzing epidemiological studies to deliver data-backed insights supporting evidence-based policy making, public health interventions, and decision-making.
You will operate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, requiring adaptability, pro-activeness, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.
(What you will be working on)
You will be responsible for framing research questions and hypotheses aligned with agency needs, designing epidemiological studies with appropriate methods, and supporting surveillance systems for infectious diseases. Additionally, you will conduct epidemiological investigations, analyze data to identify disease patterns and risk factors, and prepare reports and presentations translating scientific findings into actionable recommendations.
(What are we looking for)
A recognised tertiary qualification, preferably a Master's Degree or Doctorate in Public Health or Epidemiology.
At least 5 years of experience in a healthcare epidemiology role within a public health organization, academic institution, research institute, government agency, or hospital. Experience with vector-borne, food-borne, respiratory, or droplet-borne diseases is highly beneficial.
Familiarity with biostatistics and proficiency in at least one statistical software or programming language (e.g., Stata, R).
Proven report writing, manuscript preparation, and presentation skills, with a good publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
Strong organizational, analytical, reasoning, synthesis, and research skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude.
