Principal Technical Operations Engineer

Job Description As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation of production environments, including systems and databases, supporting critical business operations for Singapore's governmental sovereign cloud environment. You will perform administration and analysis for multiple production environments and recommend new solutions to improve availability, performance, and supportability. You will guide junior engineers, participate in large-scale incident bridges, and help build new processes and procedures. This role requires a combination of deep technical knowledge with administration/analysis within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to provide escalation support for complex production environment problems in a growth, scaling, high-performance, and high-availability context. Responsibilities Install, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize all production server hardware and software. Provide escalated technical support for complex issues, potentially leading problem management cases and providing management status. Coordinate escalated support cases and lead internal technical resources and/or third-party vendors to resolution; manage a storage infrastructure of Oracle system and database appliances. Oversee Oracle production environments; assist with server OS and application upgrades, bug fixes, patching; participate in standardization projects for hardware and software under the Oracle technology stack while ensuring consistent system uptime in a Cloud environment. Lead communications with key partners to solve complex technical problems. Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior members to help them grow in their careers. Support and administration on a 24/7 basis with rotation across day and night shifts. Requirements This role is open to Singaporeans only. Willing to work on government projects which may require security clearance; provide necessary personal details for clearance as a condition of employment. Experience with Linux system administration, networking, storage, compute, and virtualization. Understanding of and experience with technologies such as Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Chef, and Puppet. Experience participating in or leading incident bridges of significant scale. Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering value. Experience in SRE, cloud technical support, cloud operations, NOC, or similar.
